I like Continental Easy-Tape; it is fairly thin and slick, which eases mounting tight tire-rim combinations, though not as thin as Kapton. Properly-sized width-wise, I have never had them shift around even though they have no adhesive.

Kapton is good stuff too; make sure that you get the "weak" silicone adhesive mentioned above. The "strong" (acrylic, I think) adhesive is tougher but still comes off clean from most surfaces. We have various widths in free stock at work
