Bob,
Thanks for the info. I really appreciate your local advice!
I have mapped both M-Path and old cutler routes on ridewithgps.com so I have turn-by-turn cue sheets. But 2 things:

1) I prefer the more scenic route, all other things being equal.
-- a. I'll be doing about 70 miles that day so will want to make pretty good time
-- b. You mentioned that old cutler had some rough spots. I'll be riding a road bike. I "upgraded" tires to 28mm gatorskins for touring (the widest my frame could take), but it's still a road bike - not well adapted to rough surfaces. Do you think that would be a problem?

2) Getting through Miami may be challenging on a Monday morning. Can you recommend a route from say, Lauderdale to connect up with old cutler rd? (or M-Path, if that is what I end up doing.)

Thanks!
greg
