Please forgive me for jumping into your thread leicanthrope, but I think we have basically the same question and my pics might help. I also have a blue Raleigh project of roughly the same era I'd like info on. I know the model of mine as well as the serial #. It has a Made in Japan sticker with a R mark (see pic). Does that stand for Rampar and does that make it less respected? It's a Super Grand Prix I'm going to fix up for my daughter on a college campus, so I didn't want to put too much into it and have it a target for theft. I'm also new to Raleigh and would like to know the year of this model if possible and thoughts on quality vs British and American Raleighs....Thanks !
