Stuff that falls out of pickup trucks in the South: hand tools, pocket knives, and lots of fried chicken bones. In my experience, the chicken bones stop somewhere just north of Baltimore.

A buddy of mine , back in the '90s, wrote a song about finding loopy strings of busted cassette tapes on the side of the road and wondering what had been recorded on them. They disappeared, and then for a while I would find CDs (hardly ever playable, but I do remember being introduced to both the Judybats and the Nappy Roots that way). Now the CDs are mostly gone. On the whole, I'm glad the world is that much less full of plastic. That particular kind of plastic, anyway.

One time in the early aughts I found a copy of The Perks of Being a Wallflower (which I hadn't heard of at the time), with a small photo of a pretty teenage girl stuck in it. Somebody's teen drama playing out...
