And what the trek store tech told me was that you remove the existing plug on the isozone grip, the adapter goes in, and the bar-ends mound on the adapter - shifters/brakes/levers don't move. He may be wrong, but he seemed to have experience installing them, and that was how he said it works for these particular bar ends.
Well goodness, those bar ends are something new to me. So I guess I shouldn't harsh on other LBS techs... Go with the advice of someone who knows them, your local dealer...
