What cables to use with 8 speed Campy ergos

Hi all. I have a Vitus which is running a mix of Campy and Shimano in the drive train . Cranks and front derailleur are Campy Athena and it is currently running a Shimano 600 rear derailleur and hub. Shifters are the down tube type and I'm looking to upgrade these to Campy Ergopowers. To do this I have purchased a set of early (I think 1st gen) 8 speed ergos, a chorus 8 speed rear derailleur and new wheelset with Campy 8 speed hub. I'm now looking to buy a new cable set so I can put it all together but I'm a bit confused as to what will and won't work (there seems to be lots of conflicting info on cables out there ). Ideally I'd like to have blue cable housing so aftermarket cables would be preferable. I've seen some posts say Jagwire make campy compatible cables (not sure which ones) but that these are double ended and one end needs to be cut which can cause fraying! Has anyone got experience with this - good, bad otherwise? Any advice would be great! Thanks!
