I tend to like my commuting jacket from MEC which is water repellant and eventually I do get soaked but this happens with the Shower Pass, so I would rather have a jacket I can use for multiple uses. Try wearing the Shower Pass after a rainstorm and see how soaked you get from the inside. My go to rain product is a waterproof helmet cover. Someday though I would like to try the Clever Rain Cape.
I love my showers pass commuter jacket. Waterproof does not mean sweat proof. I usually only wear mine at 50 F or below. Got pit vents? Or try some $2-350.00 product with E vent or gortex.
