Hood ergonomics are much better too (at least for my hands). I could not go back to 10 speed big boxy hoods. But FD shifting is smooth and dreamy. I look forward to the new Tiagra 4700. 10 speed but will have same hoods, same FD and same cranks as 5800/6800/9000 and if pricing is still around $250 or better yet less at UK sites I'll be building a new bike.
I hear ya. I'd like to upgrade my 5700 bike. But it's a commuter/beater/rain bike...so kinda hard to justify. Also has decent wheels that are 10 speed only, which is holding me back. But maybe 4700?
