For the year, thinking it's around 2000/1, you can research Bikepedia for the exact year 2000 Specialized Rockhopper A1 FS - BikePedia

For the crank, you need to ID what you currently have, from the age, it could be Square Taper, ISIS or Octalink, for length, if what you currently have works, choose that length, it should be printed/stamped on the back of the crank, probably near the pedal hole
When I bought the bike...the original crankset teeth where so bad, I removed the crankset and threw it away. I am learning as I go along. It's a square tapered BB. the original BB UN40 I just replaced to a Shimano BB UN 26 68mm 110 mm. I have a cheap 7 speed crank on the bike now. It's been working just fine until about 1 month ago. 22 32 44 crank needed, from the amazon link, I don't know if I need the 170mm or 175mm?
