I shellaced brown Brooks leather wrap and in came out great. It's been a few years, still looks fresh...like new. However, it's not the softest surface but what it lacks in swish it makes up in a no slip and dry feel. great without gloves. I would not hesitate to do it again. If I remember correctly I wrapped the bars in an old tube first.
