I had a Rixe 3-spd, which got stolen a few weeks ago!

It was a '72 from the S-A date stamp on the hub. Build quality was not as good as a Raleigh, but better than a Huffy. It had a wierd two-piece cottered crank like the new-style Dura-Ace, but of course it 's a boat anchor. It didn't say Rixe anywhere on the frame but it did have "Sport 2000" and "GX2000" foil decals in the frame and "made in W. Germany" on the seattube.

I made mine as a SS for awhile but it was just too heavy, despite the Cannondale aluminum fork and Sun AT18 alu rims, so I made it into a three spd again (it was my shopping bike).
