Man I hear you. I wont even lock up my 90's Trek mtbs out in the elements/public, and they're worth pretty much nothing from a financial point of view.
Living in the Portland Or area I'm often amazed at the bikes I see locked up out in the rain in the city - often multi thousand dollar rides.
