I think some type of a folding bike would be best because it doesn't take up too much room...Then again, if a driver gets stranded they will have to call roadside assistance and get a ride with a tow truck. You can't just abandon and leave your broken car on the road. After that they can take public transit or a taxi or rent a car while they are waiting for their vehicle to get fixed. A bicycle would be a last choice for majority of people out there.
