Well, this is the 3rd tube it's happened to in 2 months, 2 of them had 1/3 inch split on the rim side.. upon closer investigation and measuring a little, there is a small bump on the last 2 tubes that went flat about 5 inches from the valve stem.. measuring on the rim that is exactly where the spoke hole is. The split is about 1/4 inch away. Gonna go the the LBS in the morning
I was having repeated flat once every week including from spokes puncturing tubes.
I took care of the issue by tightening up the spokes, 2 layers of rim tape, double face tape and Mr tuffy liners (1 liner between rim and tube + 1 liner between tire and tube). Due to those extra layers i went with smaller tubes.
Going on my 3rd year without a single flat.
