I like it, too when drivers are courteous. I also mouth a "Thank You" when they do this at traffic lights/stop signs even though I know they can't hear me with their window up. It ususally elicits a nod.
Yup - I ALWAYS shoot a friendly wave @ any motorist who doesn't attempt to run me down, throw stuff @ me, or yell strings of curse words.
The bad news is that I rarely get the opportunity to wave.
