Old thread, but for anyone else browsing by in the market for tire liners: I just purchased both the regular and ultra lite Mr. Tuffy liners and can confirm they are the exact same weight. 61grams each using an electronic scale. The only difference between the two are the cosmetic grooves which I suspect are only there to make the ultra lites look like they are actually different when in reality, they're made of the same material and of same thickness.

Save your money and buy the regulars if you need to. Personally I'd go with a different brand as supporting this kind of cynical marketing doesn't do anyone any good.

From their website:

Mr. Tuffy Ultra Lite, premium tire liners weigh 50% less than standard tire liners. How did we do it? Well, that’s our secret. Why did we do it? That’s easy. We wanted to extend flat tire protection to avid cyclists who previously felt the added weight was too high a price to pay for the convenience of flat-free cycling.

LOL what a joke.
