I've only ridden TOSRV twice. 1975 was the first of them. I was quite familiar with it's weather reputation, but came home with a sunburn and feeling so fortunate. Regarding that patch, I was so disappointed because something was "wrong" with mine. Later I found out they were all like that. Thanks for the memories. Oh - by the way, that was the weekend of my high school senior prom. I was feeling a little disappointed that I was missing it. That evening, in the beautiful weather, I was riding the bike around an industrial part of Portsmouth down near the river(I guess the day's ride wasn't enough!) and while stopped waiting for a train to clear the crossing ahead of me thought to myself "No, I made the right decision coming here." I've never regretted missing the prom for TOSRV.
