Hi and welcome. Competing and especially training for a triathlon can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. For sure swimming can be intimidating but you have taken the right steps and the biggest one by joining a class. In my experience joining a swim team should be your next step. You'll find the most helpful tips there. Kinda like bike forums is for the biking portion.
So many people say I wish I had done this or why didn't I do that instead of asking themselves why not? Not realizing the challenge of learning something new and conquering your fear is its biggest reward.
Remember don't just talk about it but be about it. Good luck in your training.
