You really need to decide what you desire.

You might also find yourself attracted to some of the early "lugged" carbon fiber bikes. I should have a Colnago C40 built up shortly. But, the Colnago C40 and C50 frames may straddle the divide between vintage and modern.
Or, perhaps some of the early Specialized or Trek lugged Carbon Fiber bikes.
If you can't find your dream bike on Craigslist, everything is available on E-Bay, with a bit of patience.
