I can see the appeal of buying low cost bikes as dollars will add up quickly.
I suppose I would still dream of buying a couple of vintage Colnago/Masi/Bianchi/Torpado/etc bikes. Get your family to start poking around some local bike shops
Or, browse on European E-Bay, or whatever the European equivalent of Craigslist is.
Do family members just have loaner bikes, nothing to purchase?
