You can put on 45 c tires on it and they can be had for a good price if you shop around.
Is this the bike for long rides? Probably not but for day rides its cool and its actually lighter and faster than a geared bike due to all the extraneous weight of a cassette/derailleur/multiple chainrings that are dropped.
KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid. If only more manufacturers made simple bikes just for kick-ass riding.
