Just as an aside, some of the footage of Quebec in this film shows the legacy of the seigneurial system of long, narrow land lots in New France that were owned by a seigneur and rented to "habitants" to live on and work. It was essentially feudal, and the system was eventually abolished by the British after they took over France's North American colonies following the Seven Years' War (1756-1763).
