Is/should this hexnut on the crankarm get a cover?

If so, how to cover?

The previous arms have more space for a little plastic insert cap.

These arms are on tight with about 500 inch (or foot) pounds or torque. So they should be tight.

There's not much of a lip left for any kind of cap.

Are crankarm ends like this typically left exposed or is there a way to stick a cap on this to protect it more?
