Over 10 years as a randonneur and I have not heard that term before. You can "set up" a bike as a randonneur, which for many would include a slightly higher rise on the stem. One reason being is that after 500 kilometers your arms are too short. The part of your body that can benefit the most from this is your neck. None of it makes any sense, especially the part about riding 600 km (375 mi) in under 40 hours, for fun!
