Being a simple man, I like the simple definition found here: kind or gentle to people or animals

Unfortunately, there is more nuance to the word humane than I would like and, though we probably agree 99% on what humane means to us, it likely wouldn't meet the mark for someone whose definition is closely aligned with that of PETA.

Yes: "I'm not going to tell people what kind of music to listen to, as long as it's musical."
