saris bones supposed to be the best. yes it was relatively stable. seems nicely built. but scratched my frame (the straps) and scratched the car (the legs). i mean, if you just need a temporary means of transporting bikes and you dont care much about the car, fine. if you will be using it often, get a hitch mount
