Out of work at 8:15, coffee & a bagel & off to see the bikes. Everything was set up & both bikes had been reduced to $50. Only haggling I did was ask if he'd toss in the alloy wheel set sitting by the bikes. Done deal. Home by 8:50.
Off for the week as of 10am tomorrow so photos in the next day or 2.
Quick summary:
wheels are Cerchio Fiamme 700's w high flange Shimano hubs
Bobet 15 speed, looks like the svelto derailer, steel wheels, cottered crank, alloy fenders (from the little time I spent looking up this bike it said these were an option)
Le Tour 12speed, Shimano derailers, Zefal pump plus stuff above. Plans are clean & lube, swap steel pedals for alloy w toe clips & if the seat proves uncomfortable, a Brooks & ride it as is. probably ride this on the fall CCRT ride
Both bikes appear to have been ridden regularly, tires hold air, no cracking...
