Motorex dry power lube

Picked up a bottle of Motorex brand "dry power" chain lube. (see link) Was surprised as the consistency was more like olive oil than what I would expect for a "dry" lube. Let the lube dry overnight and then rode. After the first few miles, the chain was about as dirty as what would be expected from a wet lube. Not a ton of info online about this lube. Aside from only applying 1 drop per link and wiping off the excess, am I doing something wrong here?

My normal lube for dry conditions is finish line dry lube. Although it washes off easily in wet conditions, it keeps the chain very clean and I usually just apply more every 250 miles and only clean the chain a few times a year.
