Was the drivetrain clean prior to application? Motorex Dry Power is a wax based lube. My experience with wax lubes is that the chain stays very clean if the drivetrain was very clean prior to application.

Most wax lubes also say to wait for the solvent to dry and then wipe. Motorex instructions say to wait overnight. Boesheild says to wait two hours and then wipe. Other wax based products have similar instructions. It is possible that there was still solvent carrier in the chain if the chain was wiped too soon or not wiped at all.
