Well, just because you haven't seen something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
The BB30 Red 22 crankset with an
integrated spider (which is what the OP has - see pic in post #22) is installed with a wavy washer and spacers - sans preload adjuster.
The crank ships with an install manual (also
available here) which the LBS tech would have read, understood and followed if he was doing his job.
