Is the modern day "Holdsworth" the equivalent to BikesDirect "Motobecane"?

Today's Motobecane has zero to do with the old French Motobecane as we all know. In my search for a British audax frame, I found Holdsworths being sold exclusively at PlanetX cycles in the UK. I read some reviews that said the modern Holdsworths were not the same as the original, but I wondered if it is a re-birth of sorts where someone or some larger bicycle company tried to resurrect the brand from the ashes, or more like Motobecane's case where a company just bought the name. I'm aweful my tempted by the Holdsworth Cyclone on PXB.
