Two bikes for my daughter: a cool vintage mixte and a MTB. I came to realize that the mixte--handmade 531 with filed lugs and Campy parts & dropouts--is a bit too precious for her to (ab)use on a daily basis and leave, hopefully locked, at school. Thus, I bought a small Trek MTB on CL for $40. This weekend I tore everything down to the bare frame and rebuild it with some upgrades from the bin. Now she won't have to suffer the unbearable humiliation of getting towed to 3rd grade on a trail-a-bike.
Also just about finished with a '90 Merlin project I've been slowly working on for a while.It's basically done. Applied the decals today. Hopefully a shakedown ride and photos tomorrow.
