Eccentric Chain Stays on Schwinn Moab.3. This is a new one on me.
The title says it all: I just picked up a really cute little 1996 Schwinn Moab.3 and noticed that the frame looks peculiar where the chain stays approach the rear axle from different angles.
It looks like the right chain stay is distorted but a search on the internet yielded a picture of a much bigger 1996 Moab.3 suggests that all of the 1996 Moab.3 bikes have the same peculiarity.
Can anyone suggest a reason why the frame would have been built like this ??
Clearance does not seem to be a problem.
I've never seen anything so obviously like it before.
