I run 38s on mine with SKS Chromoplastic fenders. No problem whatsoever.

BTW, this bike is a great value for an inexpensive and extremely durable SS/F bike. My WT is several years old and has about 5K miles on it. I've used it for everything from 60+ mile gravel races to fast group rides to winter training to riding with the kids. I've frankly thrashed it and it still looks new. Tough as nails.
