i also thought this was a fake post, being poor, i was kinda ticked that a noobie was going to get to the point that i wanted my bike to be (and im sure most of us) faster than me. noobies can't have a bling bike right away, not before me!

i really don't think he should spend more than 100 bucks on this, especialy if it's for coffee runs/weekend stuff. you should look for a cheap bike at a thrift store 5-40 bucks, overhaul it, and then rota fixa a dura ace cog 20 bucks, 20 bucks on nashbar tires

bike =40
cog= 20
tires=20-40
rotafixa= http://rotafixa.org/fisso/eng/schpignone.htm

the cost of everything else is aesthetics and tools (unless you have them). if you really want it to look nice you can spend an extra 5 bucks on metal polish and polish everything up really nice. and then buy a 5 dollar can of of spray paint and paint over it. that's what i did, i didn't even sand it, haha suckers, came out great
