It doesn't sound as funny as it was when I wrote it and then read it just now. You kinda had to be there.
He made an objectionable assumption - that there must be something wrong with you. Why shouldn't he expect an objectionable answer? Although I probably would have asked him why he though I had to have a disability to ride a trike.
