IMO - they should either widen the gate, or do the right thing and send a safety man out to flag traffic when a truck wants to enter.

But despite that, I suspect that a big part of the problem was inattentiveness on the part of the moped driver. Either that or she was aware of the turn and planning to shoot the gap like the car ahead of her.

As I said, there's plenty of errors here, but luck trumps brains every time.
