It's quite simple actually. I've been looking for an 87 Paramount to go with my 87 Prologue and 87 Circuit. Plus I have been looking for a "patriotic" themed bike to replace a Raleigh Team USA I sold a few years ago because it didn't fit me.

In my searches found this on Ebay and probably paid too much. Worth it to me but to the purist Paramount folks I'm sure I paid 10x what it's worth.

I found quite a few negative comments on the PDG series bike from other Schwinn owners (mainly Paramount it seemed) while researching why this one was different. All I know is that my Prologue is one of my favorite rides and I figure if this is 1/2 as good it'll be a wonderful bike.

Steel is real...and comfy.
