the main issue will be the max tooth range of the front der.... there's only so much room available in that cage, and you may exceed that limit, which will have your chain rubbing the cage at the bottom, eh? You SHOULD be ok, but watch for that interference... IF the front Der. is specific to a 2x10 in that 38/26 relationship, then you may not be able to use that 44 with the 26 small ring.... Your rear cassette will play into it, too, as the rear der. has limits on how wide a tooth count it can handle... the problem with the tooth count issue will happen when you cross-chain your gears(big front, big in back), and the rubbing issue will happen when you cross chain in the opposite direction. SRAM should have tooth count limits listed, as they should for max. difference between front ring sizes... My advice? go with a triple ring crank and der.!
