The thing is, when it comes to weight loss, it is less about cycling the long distances and more about your calorie intake. So for now, my suggestion would be to start tracking your food intake and just keep doing what you're doing with the cycling.

BTW - it's really hilly here too, in Tasmania. I've had to learn how to climb!! But that was one motivation to lose my weight ... less weight to haul up the hills.
