So, it's a penalty for not logging in? But, really, with as much exposure and use as this forum gets, I think it would always be a wise idea to post a "What do you think if we were to....." sort of thing. Then, your decisions could be made by what the viewers think is helpful. Also, it's an after-the-fact thing, nobody received any advance notice that there was some pop-up happening because of a planned change in the forum. Make a change, fine. Let everybody know you're going to make a change, better. Put a planned change up for discussion, best.
