Spare parts -- is it an obsession?
When does buying and storing spare parts for future use become an obsession? I got an email sale flyer for some tires I use and like, but before I clicked on "Buy" I went looking. Using my normal rate of consumption, I have:
2.5 years' worth of bike tires
2 years' chains
5 years' of cassettes
6 years spare cables
10 years' or so of brake pads
Not to mention two sets of brifters (one Campy, one Shimano)
Does this seem like overkill? What's your inventory look like?
