Bottom Bracket Cup Troubles
Good morning bicycle friends. Hoping someone can help me out with a first time dilemma. A customer brought their Cannondale SLX in to replace the bottom bracket cups. They complained of a creak in the bottom bracket, said they had the same issue some years ago, replaced the cups and that fixed the issue. Therefore I was going to simply replace the cups again and hope that solved the issue. Unfortunately the drive side cup will not come out. I could not put enough force on the cup with the tool to un-thread it. Found a PVC extension bar and it finally broke free. However, it's still barely spinning (even with lots of force) and doesn't seem to be unthreading. This was a red flag in my book and so I'm not going to touch it anymore till I get some more information. The crank is a FSA SLK-Light and the bottom bracket cups are FSA MegaExo with a 24mm spindle. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
