Right, I've been a DF rider for a long time, never used a recumbent except the few times I repaired them (and I usually either tested them in a trainer stand or had the customer do the post-repair ride if they were too 'big'). But I was feeling the n+1 bug so I ordered one. Then got bored waiting for that one and grabbed another used one on a whim. And they're both awesome- different than DF bikes and different than each other. Like sitting in a recliner or hammock and turning my legs. It's been a while since I did a century, but I could totally do one with no warm up on my bents. Sure they have their drawbacks and a learning curve, but for someone with severe saddle or wrist/shoulder issues, they should absolutely consider or try a recumbent, in the most literal sense. For the record, I'm in my 30s and don't have any comfort issues, I just wanted a cool new toy (or two).
You just have to drop the preconceived ideas of what cycling is.
