Couple of questions.....Do modern brifters work well with a stock 1985 road bar that would be on my Panasonic? I don't know the specifics of the bar other than it looks like all other bars from that era and is made in Japan. Also I have been reading that the shifter offerings don't lend well to downshifting from the drops as you cannot reach the thumb lever very well. Can anyone offer any experience on this? And lastly what are going to be the major differences between these 2 shifters (other than brand).
