For the ladt 20 years I've used saddles wit a cutout. I was back on my trainer in 6 weeks, and on the road in 8 weeks after robotic surgery. There was only a slight discomfort at first, but now it is normal. I just reached my 5 month post-op date a couple of weeks ago, and celebrated it by doing a 7 day tour with my wife and daughters. We only did 250 miles, but it was ver hiily riding.

My point is that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

That Brooks Imperial and Terry Liberator are both saddle I've used for long distance riding.

Good luck, and listen to you doctor.
