I follow Phil Gaimon's Strava + Facebook page and was interested in his Fondo ride - the 100 miler is $170! I guess it's catered to the super-wealthy Westlake/Calabasas/Malibu Pharma crew but still, that's a pretty crazy price.
I agree of course and after having ridden a bunch of these I'll say this - the Cool Breeze Century was one of my favorites. Their volunteers, SAG support, food, etc, etc, were a cut above any of the others.
These days I'm often riding with the local bike club or with a couple of buddies.
