Most years I ride from Narbonne to Cahors, France and back to visit friends. I just leave with a destination and not a firm plan: sometimes I go up the Canal du Midi and come back through the mountains, sometimes the reverse, sometimes stealth camping, sometimes hotels... even though I've done it about 10 times, it never seems to get old; the physical effort is what I enjoy most about it, more than the particular route. I've yet to have a "you shouldn't have gone there" or "you missed x and y" moment.
