Why not just put Hex Skewers on?
Going to take it your in the UK, if your going to the Rotherham shop? what your describing isn't common on bikes (bolt on hubs) unless they are very low end, just about all bikes will come with QR hubs, although it's really easy to swap them to Hex skewers.,
