I love vintage bikes but I won't do vintage pedals anymore on a bike I plan to ride. After years of hot spots, cold spots, numbness, etc while using a variety of shoes and a variety of pedals with clips and straps and click in cleats, I rejoiced when I switched to big honking platforms. I could pedal all day without a single foot related issue. I have, at least, stuck with silver platforms on my vintage bikes.
